Ok. I joined. I will probably ask lots of questions. Like how much material do you need to make the different patterns for it to come out to a 12 1/2" block?

Since each one will be different, I'd say that's impossible to say. I think you'll just have to estimate as you go.

It's probably going to be different for each block that you do. The amount of fabric would depend on how many colors are in each block, and how you choose to piece your block. Example: if you paper piece you'll use a lot more fabric than if you didn't. If you choose to applique you'll need more than a pieced block.

I joined the round robin for the very same reason - because I was a little worried that I wouldn't figure it out. Now I find that participating in a group project really stretches my imagination because I get to interpret what the others have done and I get to add my creativitiy to it.

If you are worried that the recipient won't like what you have planned, you can ask questions and post pictures along the way. OR you can just let those quilty juices flow and do the best you know how. ...and have fun!!!!!!

    ....don't look at me....

guess I'm going to be staying in the back of the room for a while too....

On a more serious note - the fabric I ordered for my row arrived yesterday. It is perfect! I spent quite a few minutes this morning petting it and envisioning my row. So excited to get started! Now, if only I could get those pesky Christmas projects done so that I can start cutting...
