I think you are too quick. That's what I think and I am sticking to it. LOL. I do think it will soon be finished and it will look nice.

I love block 1. I did not know shirts looked like that. Where would you get that type of fabric?
That was my question too. Is there a "civil war" section in the stores? Also, it sounds like there are certain blocks that go with that era???? Must admit that I am feeling lost on this one.
Yes, quilt shops often have a civil war fabric section just like you might find a section of batiks or 30's fabrics.
I don't know. I asked today and I was told, "Good luck in finding it." Maybe it is found in certain parts of the country?

I can't believe that they said that. I find it wherever I look, at shops, at quilt shows and on-line.

My theme for the Row Robin 2011 is ... "Thirties Toys" and/or "Thirties Block Patterns", using Retro Prints. I had a "very old" issue of a Quilting Magazine (dated 1930 - 1931) on hand .... and found a small drawing of a Cat and a Dog projects in the magazine. I pieced together 3 - "Thirties Pinwheel in a Square Block" patterns and appliqued one block of the Cat .... and one block of the Dog for my first row. Thought I'd share it with all of you.

    The finished First Row.

I enlarged the small drawing of the Dog.

Also enlarged the small drawing of the Cat.
