Thank you so much! She is my inspiration and my motivation in life :-) I am excited to see what comes back on this for her. I am using 5 other pictures that did not fit in the front row as labels for everyone to sign so I can put them on the back :-)
Hugs

Well, I made a copy of the card and added a picture of my daughter when she was 3 months old and then added ribbon embroidery flowers and a bee on the sides of her and then ended up with 2 paper pieced birdhouses on each end. This is the first time I have ever done ribbon embroidery and learned it from a book. Needless to say, it is not perfect but I like it!! I still need to applique the holes on the birdhouses and maybe add another bee, dragonfly and butterfly. I will probably darken the words on the card center with my pigma pen, but I might wait until it gets back. Let me know what you think. I can always do something else.

Gail:
If I can do it, anyone can do it!! I was looking at some of the work done by other quilters on the message board and loved some of the embroidery. My machine is OLD and doesn't have the embroidery "stuff" so I would have to do it by hand. While I was looking for books on Amazon, I saw Ribbon Embroidery. Here are 3 of the books that I ordered and use....of course there are lots more out there. 1. The Handbook of Silk Ribbon Embroidery by Ann cox. 2. Floral Interpretations for Silk Ribbon by Helen Dafter (a Milner Craft Series book). 3. A~Z of Ribbon Embroidery by Inspirational books. My row isn't perfect, but it is a learning experience and it seems to look ok. There are some things that I would have done differently, but that will be for another project. The material I used is more of a loose weave so the thick ribbon and needle could go through it. I can aways back it with something else before I add the batting and quilt it. Hope this helps . If you have any other questions, let me know!!

Sherry: Yes, I do love it. I am still learning, but I love the look of it.
That is beautiful. Don't you love ribbon embroidery?

Sherry and Karen: Since I can't always wait till I go to the store to get printable fabric sheets, I found another way to print photos, etc. Freezer paper. I cut my fabric and freezer paper in 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches (the size of letter paper). Iron the shiny side to the back side of the fabric and make sure there are no loose threads to get stuck in he printer. Load your fabric/paper into the printer and print your photo. Most of the printable fabric sheets are in white or black and this way, you can put it on any fabric color. Hope this helps!! Carsey
How do you make a copy of a card, photo, or painting and print it on cloth? My avatar is an oil painting I have painted. I have more paintings and embroidery items I have done.
You can buy printable fabric sheets, I use Miracle Fabric Sheets, at a quilt store. Then print the picture you want on there. Hope that helps.

Sherry: Try taking a picture of your oil painting and then printing it on printable fabric sheets or freezer paper with fabric. You can follow my directions posted up above. Let me know how it goes!!
