You're so welcome. I hoped you wouldn't think I was presumptuous by butting in. Since I'm in the middle of the 2010 Row Robin (and was the one who suggested a Row Robin when the discussion centered around a Round Robin), I thought I could help.
From all the inquiries, you sure will have a lot of participation and that's what makes the Quilting Board so much fun! Belles

    Mariah.
What are you using for your theme?
I may be doing handkerchief blocks as my theme, hoping for it to look like spring with lots of petite flowers, etc. But I may change my mind before the deadline too, it's very exciting to think about!

Sounds like fun! Definately considering...just haven't signed up because I can't decide on a theme. If I can get that accomplished then I'm set. Will look for inspiration today :)

Handkerchief blocks are simply hankies sewn on a background and then hand quilted. But the ones I have are so very special to me, I asked family and friends to send me handkerchiefs. I got the most amazing, beautiful, make-me-smile, handkerchiefs. One is actually from Japan, one was given to me by mother and it originally belonged to my great aunt. I sewed mine onto a white background fabric and then added borders to make a full-size bed quilt (still haven't finished it yet though  ). I'm going to try to post a picture on here, but not sure how - will try though. For this challenge I will probably use a lighter color background or go with white again. It makes it look so crisp and fresh!

You can buy them in stores though, and not just those red and blue ones that men typically use. They have beautiful ones that would be beautiful on a quilt or wall-hanging.

I love purple and this is one of my favs.

My opinion on sashing is: If you want to include the sashing of your choice it could be stitched by each pair of hands that work on the quilt top. That way you have the right sashing that you want on the finished project. It seems to me that it is only another 60" to sew.

Do we furnish the fabric for all rows, or do we get the 1st row and what that person wants for her theme and we put it on the type fabric we think best.

    - You make the first row and decide what you want for a theme. Then the next person picks what they think best matches it.

I noticed the question has been asked about the sashing between rows. Do each of us do that, per the person we are sewing for each time, or how does that work?

*blush* You had to pick the one thing I didn't think of :P. Let me think of an answer... anyone have an opinion on that?

Sorry classes keep me busy sometimes. I'm watching the thread I swear :)
