Here's the rest of mine, just going to post office now, and like I said before, my santa with toybag and walking stick looks nothing like yours. ButI recognised it as soon as I saw it. Thought I should post early, just incase USPS or Aust Post decide to lose them temporarily.

    AWESOME looking blocks!

I'm new to quilting but if someone could help me with measurements on my borders. My middle block is 6.5", what should be the measurements on the borders? I did them 3.5" but it was still 1/4 short. I feel so stupid for asking.

Don't feel silly, we've all been there at some stage. The block needs to finsh at 12.5", so if you have a block that's currently 6.5", when you add a border you lose .25" on each side, and you also lose the same on the border. So you need to add the 2 seam allowances to the final figure. ie you need the borders to be 3.75". I often overestimate to the full inch figure, and trim to size. Easier than ripping out seams. Hope this makes sense.

Sorry I misunderstood as my blocks are a little different, they aren't Santa blocks, they are more Christmas blocks. I read the initial swap posting and looked at the pictures on page #3, so maybe I missed the bus. I did a 4 to 9 patch with a base fabric and one Christmas them fabric, can I still send them in? If not, I like them, LOL! ;-D

Where did you find the pattern for the wandering santa with the walking stick? I love both of the blocks that were made using that pattern! It's amazing how the use of different fabrics changes the outcome.

Thanks Lindyline. I was thinking about rounding it up to the full 4 inches and then cutting it. Makes me realize I may be a little good at problem solving.

SuzanneTx, they should be just fine. What width seam are you using? Are they all 1/4 wide?
