Our ladies (and hubby) spent a lot of time and hard work dividing and mailing our siggy blocks and it would be encouraging to them if we all tried to send our thanks and appreciation to the address that was provided.

Having worked in administration I know a Thank You goes a long way. Many Thank You notes would reflect well on our workers and us!

Yay for all siggy block swappers! Three cheers for those that worked to make it all come together!

The address is originally posted on page 124.

I am also happy to post pics when my siggies arrive home  and I have sent a thank you card ( adorned with Australian native flowers -says she waving the Aussie flag - :D :D ) to the Town Hall supervisors.

Everyone has done a wonderful job from sewing, to sorting, to sending.

It was a lot of fun but exhausting sorting the blocks, I hope you all like the blocks you receive!

I would like to repeat which has been said a few times already. Apparently Diane DiMarco the Director of the Senior Center does not receive the appreciation she deserves.

I hope everyone writes a letter of appreciation to her and her supervisor Frank De Gallo telling about how appreciative we are in letting us use the space for the swap. Even Molly (the office clerk) was special in the fact that she helped us and even volunteered to stay late.

These people did not know me/us as I am not really a member of the Center. They even let us have a key to lock up when we were finished about 10:30 PM.

Although I had offered my house as a swapping point as I was centrally located between the other swappers, there is no way we could have accomplished what we did without that room! They were a lifesaver.

I personally brought over a plant and card to the Center on Monday, but would like extra emphasis on their help from the fellow board members. They even offered to let us use the room again at a later time if needed.

Sewcrafty made a joke saying that we each sorted around 5400 blocks, although that is not strictly true. As we sorted in counts, then bags, then divided the left-overs, so we actually sorted them at least 3 times.

To be honest, Saturday and Sunday after the swap, I have felt the oldest I have ever felt in my life. I used muscles I haven't used in years and boy were they complaining.

    Would I do this again?

Yes, this was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to see all of the ideas people come up with for their quilts. I also would volunteer more often as I now know how much help is needed and how much work is involved. This swap grew so fast and honestly we needed a lot more help. Poor NorBanaquilts still has work to do.

I have 2 new wonderful friends, 3 including John although I am still upset he didn't sing to us, lol, that I now able to share these wonderful memories.

Hope everyone enjoys their blocks and are not disappointed.

I will be glad to post pictures when my blocks arrive home - even though I was not able to finish the full amount. Thanks to NorBana - who went above and beyond the call of duty in everything she did for this swap - I was able to participate in my first swap and now I am eagerly awaiting the return blocks. Thank you to all who participated in that huge swapping of blocks. I think I would have looked at that huge pile and felt like running out the door! MARVELOUS JOB! Love and hugs to all!
