i will feverishly work to finish quilting my dgd's first quilt. it's kinda late, but.... we are hoping to be able to fly to dallas from philly on wednesday, naturally the expected worst day. (dirty words, dirty words, dirty words!) my dh has a conference in dallas, so not life or death , but i really wanted to see my dgd and my beautiful dd who just got her braces off and will be celebrating her 26th b'day. naturally, i didn't send her prezzies. i have a treadle but it has sat for many, many years and i wouldn't know where to start to get it running. i do have lots of handwork i can do.......in the dark, lol! we have lots of blankets and furbodies for warmth, so guess we'll be ok. dh said w/m was out of canned pasta-- and i was sooo looking forward to cold spaghetti-os, lol. maybe i'll have time to pick fabrics and cut for the boom i'm in. my dh is all in favor of my shopping my stash! why is it there is never just the right fabric and i end up buying more fabric? why do i have a stash? and will i ever get to the boxes of grouped fabrics for quilts? who knows??
y'all stay safe! we're doing our best. if they say leave, for goodness sake, GO! drowned people don't quilt! seriously, please, get out while the getting is good!!

I need to get a new treadle belt for my old machine....she won't work without a new one....will be heading out in the morning for that and a few other things....
We will most likely be without power, too....the winds where I am will be up to 55mph and I'm no where near the eastern shore line. The lake is predicted to have 25foot waves. Need to get some wood for the fireplace, too.

I am worried about those winds. too. We don't have a fire place. I cannot imagine 25 foot waves on Lake Michigan.
I talked to my DD daughter who lives in NYC and she seemed worried but took precautions and is staying with friends.

i wish we could use our fire pit, but it's not worth burning down the house. we would then , of course, be warm till the flames died down. it is a bit of a worry but we have blankets, quilts, down comforters and furrybuddies. i'm more worried about getting hungry, so i am baking a chocolate cake. dh went to get supplies and the only chocolate was one bag of oreos. remember when the package of oreos was more oreo than package? i feel environmently heinous!

on a very serious note, i hope everyone has found a safe haven and is well protected and prepared. prayers in this difficult time!

[I did manage to buy some nice fat quarters (that I considered keeping...but I'll be good!), quote]
This is why you should always buy 2 of each fqs when buying for a gift or swap-the hostess usually says something like send things you would like to receive, then since you like it-it is hard to part with.
Thought I would try to catch up in case the wind from the storm knocks out our power, and we could get snow, and we are a few states away from the coast. I haven't received my ss package yet so I know I can eliminate anyone being my Santa that has said their package had been delivered. I ordered a fabric for my santee and am waiting for that, then have to get the fqs, I had ordered something for the gift too and it came Sat. I'm pretty sure my package won't be going out before the 3rd.
Put all my reuseable Ice packets in the freezer just in case I need them. Of course if we get snow I can just pack the food outside, hmm but in a critter proof something.
I'll pm Terri now and get to bed.

    Stay

I got my SS box in the mail today! It doesn't jingle, but there is something rolling around in that box. Now to wait until reveal day to open it. I'm waiting on a one thing that I ordered and then I'll be getting my box out in the mail.
