thanks Cindy, I should have thought of this myself when posting......

I did mention some likes especially PPing which I love, love, love.............
and dislikes, such as appliqué, which I don't like, don't like, don't like........

I can be fulfilled with almost anything quilty.

I also love easy-doing recipes..retired for a LONG time as is husband, and don't like spending my time in the kitchen.

We enjoy cruising and visiting Atlantic City, a bit of pulling the arm of the slots is good exercise !! RIGHT?

Also, if you need more info, you can always ask Terri to message your SS for more info. She has helped with that before. Also, look through your SS's latest posts. Does he or she join swaps, if so, which ones. Does he or she host swaps, if so, which one. Does he or she post pictures of their work, if so, check it out. Does he or she post in other sections. I learned a lot about my SS last year by snooping and stalking her previous posts and found out A LOT about her. I tailored her box around that and she was shocked with everything I got for her that totally fit her lifestyle. One idea...if your SS is a coffee fanatic (like me) I try to find some "Texas" coffee to send. However, I watch for allergies first. I won't send anything with nuts because I'm allergic and I break out in hives just being near it. Stupid allergy...didn't have it growing up...only developed it while I was pregnant. Oh well...still waiting on the bench...my it is nice and toasty!!!

Even with a little bit of information you can do a lot. You just have to think outside the box. Last year I passed on some things I was not using and bought some things that I would have liked to get. It was pretty easy. Have fun with it. We're all quilters, you can't go wrong with a pattern or fabric.

True!!! And...BATH FIZZIES!!!! I love those things!!! Joann's had them in their $1 bins last year. Let me tell you, between Joann's, Michael's and Target's $1 bins, I get a ton of stuff to send. Also...clearance sections at the quilt shops have fabulous finds.

OK, I'll update my likes too ) I put a bit on there but realize that it wasnt much to go on.
I tried to do it on the profile page and it wouldn't let me add very much info.
I have been quilting for over 20 years. I have a big stash but absolutely love scraps. I have been known to trade yardage for scraps. I use any color but am always short of creamy type backgrounds. I help out with a group that makes quilts for different charities; babies, kids, patients young and old.
I collect clear Christmas ornaments and those little tea ornaments (don't have any of the newer ones) I love mint chocolates. I don't have allergies unless you're planning on sending a sandwich made with whole wheat bread.
I shop at thrift stores all the time so if you are worried about sending anything used, don't be, I would love it!
    Hope this helps.

I personally think SS is a hit or miss. I have always had F*U*N no matter what comes for the simple reason someone took the time to put something together for a stranger. that in and of it's self is the biggest gift.
Christmas has been the hardest time of the year for me since my mom passed 20 yrs ago.
I don't have family or close friends. I have a quilt site with quilt friends.
This will be the only gift I get to share the day alone. please don't feel sorry for me that is not my point.
I am asked to go places but choose not to. I have a brain injury and those situations are awkward...they are not home with my mom.
I fill my life by making quilts for the children's hospitals and the abuse shelters and foster kids. That fills a place in my heart.
I'm rambling and my point to you all is to just enjoy the SS and not worry. you will do your best and that is all that matters.

Ok....let me try to help some out that are having a bit of trouble.

IF, you want to send bread or something that you think might spoil, YOU CAN send it in a separate package with OPEN NOW on it.
But, make SURE that on your TRUE SECRET SANTA package, you mark it as Secret Santa and DO NOT OPEN UNTIL REVEAL DAY.
There have been mistakes of packages being opened because they were not marked, so if EVERYONE could please mark the package, that would be a great help.

Remember, you can mail your package as soon as you want, but it HAS TO BE MAILED BY NOVEMBER 14th!!! If you are mailing within the US, YOU HAVE to put a Delivery Confirmation on it and you need to forward the number to me.
Once you send / receive your package, PLEASE let me know ASAP!!

Ok. I think I included a bit of information in my original signup email, but looking at everyone's extra blurbs makes me feel like I want to make it even easier for my SS

I drink tea, not coffee, and only green (not black). I do not like chamomile, but love orange citrus and plain green tea (with honey). I also love a good chai. My dog's name is Jackson: he is 5 years old, loves to run, does agility, and loves fluffy toys with squeakers.

I love to bake: cookies, pies, cakes, breads, bars, anything! I am in the market for more bread recipes. I love fun cookie cutters.

As far as quilting stuff goes, I always need more white thread, so a giant spool of it would be a superb gift. I do not have much of a stash; I generally buy fabrics specifically for the project I'm working on. I have been fascinated with the one-block-wonder technique (I have the first book), though, and haven't really hunted for a good fabric for that. Something with great colors, without too many hard lines, with a repeat 8" or longer, would be fun fun fun, though the technique requires 6 repeats, so don't go breaking the bank - it's just a suggestion if you have something lying around.

I have never tried paper piecing, but I'm pretty proficient at applique. I also like to do hand embroidery - they make pre-made kits for pillowcases and aprons, etc., and all you have to do is buy the right embroidery floss to go with the pattern. I covered my dislikes pretty well (sorry if it made me sound picky!), so I won't go into them here. I don't have any square rulers of my own, and I am in need of a bigger pin cushion (and I guess some more pins, too!). Pretty colors of thread are always appreciated

I'm a grad student, so I don't get out too much :P But some of my other hobbies include kayaking, sailing on our Hobie Cat, rock climbing, and gardening in our (teeny tiny) self-made garden boxes behind our apartment.

Hope that helps! I <3 Christmas and secret santa!
