Yes, I have 2 embroidery machines; Designer 1 (haven't learned how to use it yet) & Janome 300e (thinking of upgrading it to the 350e); I have an abundance of everything I will ever need for embroidering! I really don't need anything for that. I used to do cross stitching & ribbon embroidery, but no time for it anymore so I am cleaning it out of the house. Also, same with the scrapbooking stuff. I will keep some of the cardmaking things, as I occassionally make cards. Only do handwork on occassional things that require it for finishing...do my binding totally on the sewing machine. Sew to backside, turn to front & edge stitch. Hopeing that after next week, the dr. visits, nurses, physical therapy will slow down, so I can get in my room for more than a few minutes to finish things so I can get my SP box together. Sorry not to be real chatty this year, but I do try to keep up with what's going on here. If my SS stalks me, I'm sure they can find out lots about me...I have posted alot. I learned some things about my SP doing that!

buddy'smom and starshine, thanks for answering me! I am checking ebay and doing a search for stores online that sell pieces of wool.
I wonder if I can use the felt squares that you can get at JoAnn's? They are made of cotton? but seem to have the properties of wool felt. I also think there are books on the subject. Think I will check the library.
I found a pattern for a pincushion and a matching needle book. Depending how it turns out, I wonder if my santee would like one. hmmmmmm

Your welcome, Joann's does sell some wool on bolts and you can purchase small pieces. I purchased a piece of red for my Santa hat and it's really nice.

sunrise450 have you checked the quilt stores in your area too? I know when the LQS near me (now closed) didn't have something sometimes they could special order it. If they don't have wool fabric they might be able to order some, maybe a wool Kit. I didn't have to pay shipping when they ordered a pattern for me that I was looking for and they didn't have it in the shop. It only took 7-10 days if I remember correctly.
buddy's mom what's a bobbin winder, and how does it work, and what do you love about it?
sunrise450 maybe you should wait until after SS opening day-if your Santa reads the post maybe some wool for applique will come your way.

Ladies, I made arrangements for the Chippendales to visit the hole tonight. I noticed that our wine supplies are down so bring extra! I warned them that the sewing machines may provide a background beat for them to follow. These guys always smell like baby powder so if you're allergic to powder, you may not want to come to the hole tonight.

And if you're my Secret Santa, a wool pincushion would be wonderful for me. But I love all handmade items. Including UFO projects that you want to pass on. :-)

sunrise450, you might check local thrift and Goodwill stores for wool jackets and skirts. If I can't find the right color I do use liquid rit dye to overdye the wool and it comes out great. By using the liquid I can use just a little to overdye a small piece and save the rest for another time. I will cut off the sleeve for one color, the front for two more and so on. It is fun to mix up your own colors. Just be sure to wear gloves and old clothes. Alot of time I can come up with enough different colors from one jacket to do a whole project.
