Here is a recipe that my hubs taught me to make, but normally
he is the one who will make these.

    Cheese Ball

1 package of cream cheese softened (room temp)
1 jar "Kraft Old English" cheese spread
1 jar "Kraft Roka Bleu" cheese spread
1/4 to 1/2 tsp of seasoning salt (like Lawrys)
1 to 3 TBS Worcestershire sauce (you don't want to mixture to soupy)
2 packages finely chopped walnuts (can use pecans or any finely chopped nut)

In a large bowl mix all the cheeses together (with hands is best) until well blended
    add in all other ingredients.
Place cheese mixture into a sealed container and refrigerate until firmly set up.

Shape into as many balls as desired from 1 large to several smaller.
Pour chopped nuts into a dish such as a pie pan roll cheese balls .
It is best to make this cheese ball at least day or two before serving to let all the flavors
    combine.

Roka Blue spread can be harder to find this time of year but it IS available.

    Lots of great recipies.

Sherri- cannot imagine such short notice to move. I am sure God will make sure the SS box is found in time and you finish those great Boy Scout quilts.

I am really considering calling in sick this morning. My head is splitting. Guess should get in the shower and see if that makes it better but already 45 minutes late leaving. Ugghhhh,

Please don't get upset but this has nothing to do with secret santa nor is it a recipe.
This is a silly story of something that happened to me Sunday while cleaning my house in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Here are some house cleaning rules to follow. P.S. I hate house cleaning.
Tip number I. Always know the location of the vacuum cleaners on and off switch.
Tip Number 2. When sweeping with hair that is very long never ever bend over and pick anything up from the floor. Its a real mess to have about a foot of your hair wound around the beater bar of the vacuum while being thrown violently to the floor as you try to turn off the vacuum.
Tip number 3. Never pass out while the vacuum cleaner is running.
More house cleaning tips will be sent to you as soon as I quit seeing stars.
On a positive note I can still do a somersault! Next time I try it I hope i'm not attached to my vacuum.

I really hate house cleaning. Next year the thanksgiving holiday will be celebrated at a restaurant of my choice.

Hope everyone gets or has their secret santa gift box and you get to spend a wonderful day with friends and family on Thursday.

P.S. no santa gift box for me yet.

Oh! My!! Gosh!!! Lisa, I hope you got all of your hair retrieved and untangled! After seeing what a vacuum cleaner can do to a fringed rug, I shudder to think of it sucking up someone's hair!!!

All of the recipes sound heavenly! I'm kinda wishing we had more of a crowd for holidays, as sweets tend to go a really long way, with my small family.

Been keeping myself kinda busy, trying to work on a couple of quilts (hopefully made/finished in time, for Christmas mailing). The past few days, I've been searching for the perfect way to make quilt labels, with a small embroidered font. It sounded fairly easy, until I started researching fonts (very few, less than 1/2") and programs to manage them. If I find the solution, I'll be sure to share with y'all. Will be trying another trial program, today. If I have any luck with it, I'll share.

Can someone tell me what post the Chocolate Pie is on? Thought I'd printed it out, guess not. I've gone back through and can't find it.

    Lisa,

    I'm so sorry about your vacuum incident . . . but I'm still laughing . . .

    Hope you're ok.

OK, so I promised a cheese cake recipe on Friday. Thought I'll just go home and do it so I don't forget. Obviously, that didn't happen.

But I have a good excuse. (Gotta remember the puppy stories I've already told).

    Anyway, here's the

    Cheese Cake recipe.

    4 eggs
    1 C sugar
    3 pkg cream cheese softened
    1 t vanilla
2 regular containers of sour cream
    1 pkg graham crackers
    1 stick butter
    2 T sugar
    1/2 t salt
    9 x 12 pan

Melt the butter and put it in the bottom of the pan.
Crush the graham crackers (I put them in between two pieces of wax paper and roll them with the rolling pin) and put in the pan. Shake gently to get them even. Set the pan aside.

Beat the eggs and add 1 C sugar. Add cream cheese and vanilla. Beat till smooth.

Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes or a toothpick comes out clean.

Mix sour cream, salt and 2 T sugar. Pour on top of cheese cake.

Bake 475 degrees for 5 minutes.

Let cool. Top with whatever you want.
