Thanks Charlee. I think I will stick with pop. At my party Friday, I got tipsy on some gummy bears. I am not a drinker and those were potent. They were soaked in vodka. They said I was funny and that I shouldn't have eaten the entire bear family. LOL!

    ~grin~ Too funny McDaniel!

I have to tell you a story now! LOL

My ex's mother, rest her soul, was the sweetest woman I think I've ever met. Never a harsh word out of her mouth, and if she couldn't say something nice, she said nothing. She didn't drink either.
At her granddaughter's wedding reception, they had "Jungle Juice", a rather potent mixture of Everclear, 7UP, and sliced citrus fruit. She wouldn't have had a cup of that punch to save her soul, but she kept telling everyone that "I'll eat your fruit if you don't want it!" She loved citrus fruit of any kind!
Wellllllllll...that fruit absorbs the alcohol in the punch, and before you knew it, this darling 78 year old woman was staggering drunk, giggling like a schoolgirl, and singing bawdy songs that we never dreamed she knew!! She was hilarious, and darling at the same time!

Well, good evening girls. I have been trying to get on here for hours, and kept getting the "site under construction" message. Well, I just tried refreshing.... and guess what???? I finally got here. So I have been missing the party. I used to work for a very nice Jewish dentist. Every year he took us out to dinner for our Christmas party. He would have one drink just to be sociable with all us "Christian" boozers. I would then proceed to tease him the next day about how he got drunk just sniffing the rim of the glass. He would be so funny telling jokes and talking about people that he would NEVER do at any other time. And I don't think he ever had more than about 1/2 of his drink.

I finally have finished with baking!!! My wonderful hubby and son helped themselves to some of the fudge, so I had to make another batch. After fixing all the cookie plates that went to some neighbors and family, we were completely out of fudge. None for our house or to go to M & D's tomorrow. Can't leave a pan of that stuff unguarded.

Started to clean house, inbetween last 2 cookie batchs and the annual cheesecake. Hubby said he just wanted a little nibble of the cheese cake, and I promised that he would be seeing stars if he touched it.

I'm so tired, but still have to do some more laundry and finish cleaning.

I'll have a Margarita if you have some, Charlee...

Just finished packing all my treats, too. That's what all of my siblings and a few others get for Christmas. I am so proud of myself. I wanted to make a messenger bag and a laptop cover for my DD. We are giving her a small laptop. I found a pattern for the laptop bag, but not the other. So, this morning, I made the laptop one and designed a messenger bag my self. I turned out so good. I am finally officially finished with all holiday projects. Whooo hooo!

Good for you, Mcdaniel. Handmade gifts is what Christmas is all about. I have been making my gifts since I was a child and gave my grandmother an apron; and one year I made everyone pillowcases. When I was in high school I made baby layettes and donated them to an orphan's home in our town. I didn't tell anyone I did it, until I spent Christmas Eve with my boyfriends parents. They had just come from spending Christmas Eve at the Orphan's home and started telling about the wonderful baby clothes made by someone from my school. Of course I got all embarrassed when they figured out it was me that had made them.
I am currently waiting for my chicken flavored dog bones to finish baking. I will give them to all the grandpuppies and my pups. I may make some more fudge tomorrow.
