Lets see if I can explain this well- and maybe someone else can help :
The kettle calling the pot black- refers to when they cooked on a fire and the kettle and pots were all black on the bottom- but the kettle could never see that "it" was black - it could only see that the "pot" was black - so you can't see yourself as being the same "bad" as the other person- does that make sense ? LOL
