Just finished! Now I'm excited about using my regular squares in something.
I went to the site that you had posted. The pattern is in their "Quilting Quickly" spring '14 issue. I understand it is still for sale but couldn't see where it is for sale at! I think I could figure it out but would be much nicer to have the pattern right there with me.
I love how your runner turned out, thanks for showing.

Sunrise450, it's not hard at all...just add equal width (2" )sashing to each side of the strip sets of crazy 8"s then lay them out horizontally then vertically to each other then add your border & binding...

Sewbiz, so glad you posted a photo, I love the red fabric..nice & bright..
Question , your border for this..you eliminated the binding & turned it out?

Yes, they are "birthed" rather than bound... Just my choice. You can bind them if you prefer.

You absolutely don't need a pattern to make these blocks. Just sew the 8 squares together and add 2" strips to each side.

Thanks, Honchey and sewbizgirl. I put my thinking cap on after I posted and the light came on. You are right, easy pattern and it turns out so effective.
