Last night I went into a Tuesday Morning store and found a plastic storage box for $5 that has 24 2"x2" compartments... SQUARES STORAGE! It's perfect. Just thought I'd share....

For those of you who haven't mailed yet... don't forget to put your board name and state on your little swap packages! It's always part of the fun to see what came from who.

Hi everyone, Sewbizgirl okayed my signing up yesterday and now I am part of the group. I went to Tuesday Mornings yesterday after reading the post about the 24 compartment storage and purchased one...
I do starch & press my fabric before cutting so it's easier to handle..just wanted to let you know..I also stopped at a LQS and picked up two $3 scrap bags that I stuffed to the gills with pieces to use for the swap...I'll be cutting tonite after work..
    Hi Oksewglad

Me too! My LQS had a scrap bin for awhile. She stopped having it because people made too much of a mess. It was fun to dig thru.

The shop I go to has gallon ziplock bags of scraps and they are $10 each. They are usually strips and big sample pieces from manufacturers. Good, but not cheap.

I tried putting my 2" squares away in my 2" square box, and unless every single one was perfectly stacked on the one below it, they didn't fit neatly into the compartments. So I ended up using the box for my 1.5" squares, the smallest size I keep. That worked better-- more 'elbow' room for my squares! Wish I could find one with a little bit bigger compartments.
