Gai there must be SOMETHING about Texas you like. Maybe you can appliqué an armadillo on a quilt!! HA HA Or maybe the Alamo, I know how much you like appliqué. Go look at Ninnies beautiful quilt. Blue and white. That could represent Texas.

Well, I was a bad girl and left my computer at work, so I can't post K3N's quilt until tonight or tomorrow!!! Sorry, will have to leave you all in suspense. Suffice it to say I'm having to follow my daughter around from trying to steal it because it's so cute!!!!

I was able to hold off on the cognac - I went to my first guild meeting last night. It was different - I kept looking around thinking, hey that could be Gai, that could be LaceLady, Rhonda, Kathryn, Terri, etc., etc. But it didn't feel as friendly for sure. People all had their friends and it was a little lonely sitting by myself. I even left early (missed my kids and wanted to tuck them into bed!) so I missed the show and tell. I felt rude, but figured my kids are more important in the long run...

Hey that makes me think of an idea - what if we did a themed doll quilt swap for our state or country? We could throw that out next year after the holidays!! Might be kind of a fun idea, seeing what people come up with!

That sounds like fun! But I live in a state I can't stand and don't want to be associated with, so I reserve the right to pick a different one!

You could do so much for Texas, even if you can't stand it. See this website:
    http://www.senate.state.tx.us/kids/matching.htm

The state insect is a Monarch Butterfly...hmm, sounds like a pretty applique project. Also, the state motto is "friendship", and hey, the lonestar is in the flag...a Star on a quilt...what a thought!!!!!!! Okay, have I given you any good ideas yet????
