Sign up time for the Quilting Board's monthly doll quilt swap!

    Quilt Swap #16 -- September 2010
We have an optional theme this month. I know you'll all be surprised to find out it's "Fall!" Fall colors, pumpkins, cornucopia, scarecrows, autumn, leaves, apples, back to school, etc. Anything goes! And remember that the themes are always optional. Who am I to mess up that neato idea you have of purple poodles riding chocolate covered donuts with sprinkles? Go for it because I'd love to see any quilt you make!

Here are some links if you want to see some of the beauties that have been created in past swaps. As always, newbies are more than welcome. This swap is for all levels of quilters and an opportunity to get some hands-on practice while seeing and learning techniques from those more experienced. It's a great mix and we have a blast.

    DOLL QUILT SWAP GUIDELINES

SIZE: from 12"x12" to 24"x24" or any size or shape in between.

    MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen.

EMBELLISHMENTS: if you want to use them, feel free. Beads, rickrack, buttons, doilies, ribbon, lace; anything or nothing at all.

CONSTRUCTION: Pieced, appliqued, wholecloth, or yo-yos; quilted by hand or machine; and bound.

LABEL: It is recommended that you attach a label to the back of your quilt. A label is a nice addition to any handmade quilt. Whether or not you decide to label your quilt, please do include a note with your quilt with your quilting board name, real name and contact information (snail mail address and/or email address, etc. so that the recipient can thank you). And I probably don't have to say this, but when you receive something, please thank the sender.

Pictures are the best part of these swaps, so post pictures! If you are unable, ask your partner to do so. Chances are, one of you has a digital camera. We wanna see!

PARTNERS: You will be paired with a partner for this swap. You will make a quilt for your partner and your partner makes one for you. Please be considerate and let your partner know if you will be late mailing or if you run into any other problems.

DUE DATE: The deadline for all quilts to be sent is September 30, 2010.

COMMUNICATION: If for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or you need to drop out of this swap, please let me know as soon as you know. If you communicate any setbacks with me I can make sure things work out favorably for your partner, no hard feelings. If you drop out at the last minute or do not send a quilt you're going to get a mom lecture from me. I have teenagers. I'm very good at mom lectures. I understand life, but we can all fit things in. If you can't just let me know. We have angels amongst us that will fill in for you. Let's not disappoint anyone, okay? If you have a busy month this month, join us next month.

SIGN UP: Sign up begins today and ends August 30, 2010. I'll assign partners after that date.

If you would like to sign up, you can respond to this thread or PM me. Please let me know if you are willing to send internationally as we have a few swappers outside of the US.

I've been waiting for this swap! I really wanted to sign up for August but I was in the middle of a move, so I've been patiently awaiting September and have planned a Fall quilt for my partner already. Yay! My first quilt swap ever!

ME, I wanna join. Now that I know what I'm doing, I want to make another one. This mini doll quilt thing is addicting.
