Oh, I decided to share a photo of one of the inhabitants of our backyard -- since everybody here enjoys photos.

This is the female Downy Woodpecker. Her hubby is around here somewhere. I love those two!

I'm sending my PC/nc tomorrow . So hope my partners like this new pattern. I certainly did use all the colors of the rainbow Klaws. Fabric was easy to find with extra goodies too. ....And that both my secret partners like the "bright" colors.... You can't have that theme in dull colors. Lol.
Today's been hatching day for chicks out of the incubator . These 3 are going to my granddaughter. Aren't they sweet? Unfortunately 3 died when we tried putting them with a setting hen. The other chicks pecked at them.... Sad

Pamala, sorry you got so wet. Good that you got rain there though, Pretty woodpecker. We have a lot of the redheaded ones. very colorful and big. Thank you Lois.I see ya got a redhead in the chicks. Very cute. I loved raising my chicks. My hens were so gentle and talked to me all the time. I miss having hens and the eggs. Thanks for the pictures ladies.

I want to thank Jaba for such a very nice swap. I received a pretty pastel rainbow pincushion/thread catcher. I been hoping for one and was about to give up and make myself one. Whew that was close. lol. This one is very nice with a heavy filled pincush. and a very roomy bag. The back of the pincush. has non skip rubber on it. Good idea. I also received a pretty matching needlebook with very pretty pins and stiletto she made. Also received a nice bag of fruit chewies and a St. Christopher medal. I am not Catholic ,but my Dad was. (he died when I was 12) He always carried one in the car and around his neck. Thank you Jaba for the terrific swap and the warm thoughts of my Daddy. I will keep it in my truck and think of him and you often. Hugs Mary

Mary -- what a lovely pc/nc & thread catcher set! Very soft colors -- reminds me of the Southwest (not that I've ever been there). I always wore a St. Christopher medal & also had one in the car -- don't know where these things disappear to. I was always very partial to St. Christopher myself.

So glad you like it lawsonmugs, soft colors ...but every color of the rainbow. It reminded me of a "fading rainbow" . The medal idea came from my Mother, she always had one in her car. She was not Catholic but believed that you can always use any help you can get. I have one in every vehicle we own and hope in some way it watches over us when we are on the road.
