More lovely packages received today everyone played well together while I was gone and have caught up on all the post while I was gone. They admitted my friend (Marty). She had criticall high levels of calcium and very very low levels of potassium. She is the one who has the 3 compression fractures in her lower back and without my knowledge had stopped drinking because it hurt to much to get up to go to the bathroom. Without the fluids to flush the calcium from her system it just got higher and higher and drew her potassium level down. I also found out that she had not been eating at all. I was going over and cooking dinner for the 2 of us and since I hurt my back have not been there for her. I know it is not my fault but I feel like I let her down. SO when she is released I will going to stay with her for a week or so until she gets better. I will have my laptop and will still be here to keep you all in line, you can't get rid of me that easy! All the packages are so very beautiful! I think we have a great bunch of ladies/gents here and that this is the BEST swap on the board! Again please pm when you receive so I can count one more off the list! Thanks Lori

I can picture it now. Krystyna throwing FQ's in the air like they were dollar bills while buried in an avalanche of quilting stuff.

Having read several threads about cliquish guilds, as I made my way around the room I gave an in-your-face "HI! I"M NEW!" with a big smile. I will make friends there whether they like it or not.
When I went to my first guild meeting I was nominated to b the Sec.!!!and they all seemed to be real friendly--then as time has gone by I realize that they are very cliquish and it's very hard to talk to anyone even on the executive board--right now I'm VP and things aren't much better and I'm not sure that I will continue--most of them join only to be able to enter their quilts in the quilt show--and it's to bad that they treat us newbies the way they do--but sometimes you can't teach a old dog an new trick!

Ok some of the others have been brave and put up a picture of themselves so here goes..... This is at the lasagna dinner I made last night for the 3rd floor ladiies. We all bought some of the ingredents each so it wasn't to expensive for anyone to make. I am the one on the left in the bluse shirt. I sure am "Fluffy" These are the ladies I share ny swap packages with. I knock on their doors when I get my package and we open it together and oh and ah over everything.

Thanks for the photo. It is nice to be able to picture a person, not just a name.
    Thanks for doing the swap.

It's nice to put a face to the person we have to thank for all the fun we get to have every month. Thanks for all your hard work Lori. I'm glad that you are doing better. Prayers for your friend Marty.
