LOL. I didn't realize that the partners were assigned until I got your PM tqualley. I like blues and earth colors. Blue at the top of the list, Yellow being in the bottom third (but can look great in combinations of other colors) and sickly greens at the bottom. Don't get me wrong, Love greens and yellows and browns as well....just a matter of what combination and what blocks, etc.

Hey Tqually: Your block went out in the mail this morning. :) Let me know when you get it and if you like it. If you can't post a pix let me know. I took one before I mailed it. *I* kinda like it. <grins>

It really it up to you but if you want my opinion? One of the half square triangle ones is a good place to start.

I would start with the Boston Block just because I think it is easy to see the steps. They are all based on the same idea so I don't know that any of them is not easy to do.

I can see the Star Point and Wings maybe confusing you til you get a good grasp of the cut down method.

Just pic a quilt block you like and go for it! They all take a 2 1/2" template except for the few that are 4 rows of 4 blocks. Most of them are 6 rows of 6 blocks.

You can stick with the HSTs (Half Square Triangles) if you like for your first one.

Here is the link for my method of making HSTs

If you need any help just let me know!!
