    I only wash reds or hand dyed fabrics, it doesn't make sense to wash out the sizing and then respray sizing to keep the fabric in a workable condition to cut templates and most of us use better quality fabrics in swaps and shouldn't have too much of a shrinkage problem after the pieces is quilted and completed.

    I am with the no prewash.. I like the stiffer to work with myself and good fabrics rarely shrink much at all. It sounds also like these are going to be more wall hangings than bed quilts that would require even more washing as people are talking about applique and no rules on fabric and adding on embellishments so why prewash? I think add ons the more the merrier!

    NEW UPDATE!!!

    You do not have to prewash your fabrics. If you did already that is OK. It seems the majority don't want to prewash, because of little pieces etc.
