Spring churn dash 12.5 block swap
#561
So glad I started and finished these blocks early. As many of the group know from other swaps my Mom passed December 8 and it’s really hard to get motivated to do anything. All I need to do is add my name and choose the plus one block then mail off and it’s one thing off my plate. So why can’t I get motivated and just do it!
I have all my blocks done and packaged too, all except adding the postage to the return envelope inside the package. I'm hesitating because I don't want them to get lost in the Christmas crush at the post office. Think I'll wait until after Jan. 1st. to mail them.

Terri, I’m so sorry!! I lost my mom in June this year and it took me 3 months to feel motivated to do anything. Your mind, body, and spirit are burdened by grief. Grief is work. It’s fatiguing—the kind of fatigue that sleep doesn’t cure. It simply requires time, and it comes and goes. Remember the extra block is optional so don’t wirry about one. There will be plenty extra. And these don’t have to be in Marcia’s hands till Feb so you have time. Please be kind to yourself and take a rest.

You all have made such gorgeous blocks. Mine are 'in process' --- can't wait to get back to them.
I've been off the board due to being ill since 12/6.
Last 2 years, my body seems to fall into a routine: first extreme tiredness with a cough, then fever & aches, then congestion, then headache/nausea after that, then bronchitis, then, bang, pneumonia! Always out of the blue, and the last 2 years it arrived just as Xmas preparations were to be made.
Well, not THIS time! This year I was determined to halt the darn thing, so I RESTED and stopped all activity, and when I thought I was 'better' (trick!) I gave myself another 2-3 days of rest, watching what I ingested very carefully (broth, liquids) which was easy because my appetite was kaput. I just let EVERYTHING go, rather than try to do a bit here and there. Result: short-circuited the routine, never got to the bronchitis stage. And without antibiotics this time.
Upshot: Can't wait to get back to my sewing after our Christmas company leaves. And it's been marvelous scrolling through these pages!
