    Hi everyone,
I just sent Maxie a message, I am forced to release myself from this swap (and everyone from waiting for my blocks). I wish life went smoothly too and I also appreciate marietta's message, and hope things go easy there marietta.
Aside from getting flu, and getting well, and holidays, and a family emergency, I was unable to make enough "good" blocks to send by the early mailing today (my last hope). I'm dejected, and I wrote to armylady just now to send my regrets.
I know this is supposed to be a simple block good for beginners which I am but Lordy! I had trouble. I should have re-cut every last piece instead of trying re-sew pieces here and there. I ended up with "scant" blocks. I was still re-cutting some pieces yesterday! And my finished blocks are not reliably 12.5 inches. The pink one in the pic is 11.5".
"Almost" doesn't really work. I don't want to send bad blocks. I have lost the battle with "Churn Dash" at the moment, & am posting pics of the carnage. Sorry to all.
These will go into my Mistake quilt project - which is getting to be a really big quilt.

Will definitely miss you K-Roll. You went to all that work .... Churn dash isn't always easy because of the exact measurements. I like to make wonky ones because I'm don't like scant quarter inch seams but I did learn how to do that much better with this swap. I'm hoping you will find your skills much improved by participating.

Me too! One of two more days and I will have the UFO on the design wall completed. So that one can go up. What is everyone going to do? Add some sashing based on what color blocks we get?

Mine won't have sashing...I have too many blocks that didn't measure up lol that I have. I was in a BOOM awhile back, and wanted to combine those blocks and these into a quilt "my garden quilt" . But as I'm designing it out , think I might have two seperate quilts, will just have to wait and see.

Battle Axe, I'm getting really excited to see my lovely surprises and then get inspired for sashing and setting. Have you decided or will you wait?

I haven't decided on sashing yet but I'm working on some 6.5 blocks to add some variety when it all comes together.
