Here is my 3rd set for this swap. The background fabric is actual raindrops when you view it close up. The blocks are 3 1/2" x 6 1/2". I made a couple of extras.

Rhonda, I love all the blocks you made. I was thinking of a birdhouse too. Already did tulips, maybe a butterfly instead.

OOOO! I have the birds for the houses rwquilts! I've embroidered bluebirds and humingbirds. I just want to put a flowered boarder around the embroidery before I try to post pictures. I think my finished products will be 9.5 for the bluebirds and either 6.5 or 9.5 for the hummingbirds.

I just LOVE everyones blocks! These are going to be so terrific!

    Hi Everyone,

I have a question. I thought I'd seen that we are to "sign" our blocks with our board name. How is everyone going to do this? Did I misunderstand? When looking at the blocks made, I don't see any signatures. I thought it would be cool to have signed blocks, but I may be off my rocker again.

Kooklabell--we are not "signing" our blocks. We just need for you to have some sort of label on each block for folks to know that the block came from you. Some use sticky labels on the back of the block, some use a small piece of paper tacked to the block, etc.

Auuggghhh! I made 6 lovely blocks using one of my favorite prints, and carefully measured to be sure they would be 12.5". Pressed, went to trim, and discovered they are all about a quarter inch too small. Maybe I could wet them and press again to stretch. Or I could trim a bit, then add another 1" border to bring it up to size. Or I could keep them and start all over. Any thoughts? Why the heck are my pictures going in twice? This is a pic of one block. Lynn

OK, I could trim them down to 9.5" to satisfy the requirements. If I got a block this close, I'd work it in. Would it be better to send them and let receiver trim them down to exact size? It kind of leaves the blue border narrower than I'd like to be in proper proportion, so maybe I should just start over again.

I woudn't start over Lynn. I think I'd trim them down a bit and add a 1 and 1/2 inch boarder to them. MMM, maybe even a 3/4 inch boarder of the flower material if you have enough - just to give it a little frame. How would that be? I'd love to receive one of these squares! They are very pretty and I love the colors.

Thank you, Kookie. Sounds like a good plan.
