Hi everyone. This sounds like fun, I've been thinking about what I wanted to make and finally decided on some applique blocks. Here is a peak of my main fabric and the borders, the rest will be made of different small pieces for a scrappy look.

I think I found one block so far judith. This is proving to be a bit of a challenge for me. LOL...

    Pretty fabrics Irene.

Red, can't wait to see what you come up with. It's always hard to think of summer when Winter/Christmas is in full swing. I'm sure something will come to you when the holidays are over and you can relax and look ahead to summer. But, if not, even one set would be welcome. It would make a nice table topper.

I have a couple of those blocks from the 2011 swap. I never made my quilt yet. Think I may join in the fun, but after Christmas. I have more than enough to keep me busy right now. I have a couple of embroidery appliques that would be perfect for this. I did them in my Florida Keys Quilt.

I've wanted to do a beach theme quilt block for some time. I made a wall hanging in a quilt guild challenge years ago that won a ribbon! I was tickled. I'll post a photo when I dig it out. Wait til you see my inspiration for this swap!

I went out on the web this morning and found tons of ideas! Now to see which ones I will use judith. There were patriotic, picnic, garden, animals, insects, swimming, beach, foods, drinks and attire to all go with summer. Who knew?

Here is the prototype of my first set judith. I hope these are okay for the swap. My 9 1/2" square sea star that came in on the tide.

Red, I love it. What a cute sea star.

I too have finished another block for the swap. A simple but cute block.
