Default Through the Looking Glass Swap

Please use 100% pre-washed cotton (required). Select fabrics that will hold up to a lot of love, wear, tears, draggin', cuddlin', washing, and trips through the dryer. Fabrics that fray easily, or are fairly easy to see through are not good candidates for this swap.

    What is our theme?

Today’s theme is Alice in Wonderland. You can use anything that makes you think of this great book/movie. It can be the original book; it could be any of the movies.
What size should the blocks be? Any size that can be divided by 3” when finished (12” x 12” is the max). Make sure you add in the seam allowance. Just add ˝ inch to the finished size. (Ex. Finished 3”x3” should be 3 ˝” x 3 ˝” unfinished)

Please send blocks to me in sets of 6. You may send as many sets as you would like to receive back, so if you send me 2 sets (12 blocks), you will get 12 different blocks back. I will be swapping all 6 of your blocks, so if you want to have one for yourself, be sure to make an extra! (Note: Since we are all sending in different sizes and different amounts, no one will end up with similar sets, so please feel free to make your six blocks in a set the same, similar, or different. It may be easier on you if they are the same, but so long as you mail to me in sets of 6, you can do whatever fits your stash!)

**Note** 3x3 finished size blocks (3.5 x 3.5 unfinished) are wonderful to have for this type of swap as they work great as filler. Since these smallies are quick and easy to make, I am making the rule that 2 of these count as 1 full size block. So in order to swap your smallies for another block, you must include 2 (so if you sent a whole set of the small fries, you'd need to send 12 small ones to get 6 blocks back). If you don't follow this rule, you may end up with fewer blocks than you had hoped for back. This makes it more fair for me to trade out your smallies for a larger-ie. Also, I don't mind a few of these, but let's not go crazy with these little guys.

I’m ready to mail, now what?
Please mark EACH ONE of your blocks with a little slip of paper pinned to each block, or a sticky label can be used, please put the label on the back as sometimes some of the 'sticky' adheres to the block itself. Or you may write in somewhere that it will not bleed through with a permanent thin pigma pen. Please include your real name AND Board name.
Please place each block set into a separate baggie before mailing. And put your real name AND board name on those. (Makes it easier on my end)

Send them to me along with an ADDRESSED RETURN Flat Rate Stamped envelope ($5.30) for returning blocks. No other return method will be accepted. DO NOT send me metered stamps. The post office doesn’t like it when I try to mail these after the date on them.

Sign-up will close on SUNDAY May 13th, PM me if you wish to join. In your PM let me know how many sets you are planning to make.

Blocks due to me by THURSDAY June 28th. Please plan mailing accordingly. They will be swapped and placed in the mail within one week. Any blocks received after June 28th will not be accepted and will be returned to you. There is plenty of time to sign up, and complete the blocks. It is not fair for those who do honor the deadline to be waiting and waiting and waiting.

Please review the rules that apply to all swaps. They apply to this swap, too. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm

Please note, in particular, the rules for mailing and those regarding swappers who fail to fulfill their swap obligations.

If I want to participate, but find that when it is finished I don't want to make the quilt, would someone like my blocks to finish for a charity quilty?

Yay!! I am so happy you are doing this swap. Most likely I will be joining you, I just want to make a few examples first to see what I can come up with.

    Cheers!
