My mug rug is completed. The first one I made, I did something stupid & had to make another one. I had used that blue chalk for marking & I couldn't get it out, so I started all over again! (Any ideas on how to get that blue chalk out?)
So I made a new (& slightly different) one for my partner. No blue chalk this time: I decided to do what I usually do -- wing it! I incorporated a fabric with all her favorite colors in it, but it blends in perfectly so it's not really noticeable in this traditional Valentine mug rug. Tomorrow after work I will put everything together & get a package ready for mailing. Oh, we have to get each others' addresses for that! LOL. Guess that's the next plan!

oh boy, oh boy! I'm the swap partner for the preview of the red almost like clouds and the arrows fabric. I'm more excited than ever. The fabrics are so pretty. I've never seen a red like that and I love it.
I'll be posting my preview when the fabric I ordered comes in. I should have it by the middle of week. The Fat Quarter shop is normally pretty quick in shipping.

My partner and I have swapped our addresses and I have started on her Mug Rug. She told me her colors that she likes and I pulled out the fabrics that will make a nice one for her. I have made a couple of extra items to include with it. I cant tell you what they are as I don't want to spoil her surprise. Lots of fun to think of her opening it up and hopefully liking what I send.

Ctyankee,
I found this info on blue chalk removal:
http://www.generations-quilt-pattern...lue-chalk.html
I've used it and red in the past, wasn't a fan for the same reason you're having. I find a plain old soap sliver works great on fabrics it will show up on; and I use the blue or purple fabric markers that you can spray with water to remove as well.
You're kitty in your avatar pic is too cute, and looks very content.
As the lucky recipient of one last month, I can say without a doubt that Vitality makes
ah-amazing mug rugs!!
JuanitaBean,
Those fabrics are lovely...

Dfergie too funny your valentine has RED in it? wow what a clue that is! never thought of red in a VALENTINE lol you made me smile this morning so thank you for that!
I love the sneak peaks of fabrics! I bet there will be some darned creative pictures being shown as we keep going! whooot whooot! lol Im so excited (and I just cant hide it?)
off to clinic but I hope most can stay inside and stay warm. those Wyoming winds are kicking right now and that certainly DOES not excite me about going out at this time. Much rather stay inside and warm underneath my beautiful down blanket!
