Linda this is something that I ask in the last swap and it is up to you whether you put one or not. Rhonda dose not require it for the swap. I know some of the ladies do. Check out the last swap and you can see what Ube quilting did on the back of my Whanging. Hope this helps.

here is my last idea for a sleeve.

    Cut out for hanging sleeve

    Adding hanging sleeve to quilt

We don't get too hung up about sleeves. Personally I like to do them as part of a decorative finish and I also use the sleeve as a place for signature block sometimes.

Other ideas that I have used as hangers are

Old costume jewelry necklace. a few stitches on each end and it is attached real fast.
Costume jewelry pin, the longer, narrow ones. Imagine making a Christmas WHing and using an old Christmas pin as a hanger!
    Braided fabric strips.
A ribbon loop on small WHings.
    Corner fabric triangles

Hangers can be a fun part of the whole project.

Ube lots of great ideas on ways to make sleeves if one chooses to put one on. I probably will.

I have found the pattern tonight I am going with. It is a Christmas Theme so it won't be that far away by the end of October. It's more on the modern side.

I still have to see if I have any of the fabrics I will need.

Thank you Armylady for answering kwylt's question. I don't always put a hanger on mine so I don't require it on yours. There again the only requirement is the size between a mugrug and a lap quilt. Everything else is up to the quilter.

I got tired of people asking if their item was the right size right type of fabric etc. So when I started this swap I decided anything goes that way if your item is 2" too long or 6" too short it just doesn't matter *grin*

So other than size there are no rules. Do whatever feels good to you!!

This is a swap to have fun in. The place to try something new, something you love, something to share that is your style and says you. Have fun with it.

Just want to be the first to post a picture. This is a sample table runner I made for the last TR Swap. My little patch of cone flowers are in full bloom now. My treadle is in the background.

Ube I like everything in that picture. The pretty scarf, the table runner, the flowers, and the pitcher and bowels. Your beautiful table runner reminds me of flowers without being flowers.
