I loved the red/white/blue swap (everything I got was so lovely, just had sashing and it will make the perfect patriotic quilt) and want to do this one as well.... just thinking about what to make before I send the PM. I am thinking one set in the blues/whites and one set in a red/greens just not sure what pattern to make them.

(and fromzstore, your snow-globes are amazing, they remind me of Christmases at my grandmas, makes me wish I had an embroidery machine.)

    What does "controlled" scrappy mean?

Both sets will be "controlled" scrappy.

    Hi ssnare,
Controlled scrappy means that you place certain colors in a certain spot no matter the print. Or it could mean that you are using a color in between to control it from looking completely non-sensical. See??

Does this mean, as an example: placeing a yellow in the upper right hand corner or in the center of each block?

Here is a sample of my 3rd set done. I am having trouble appliquing the eyes and mouth. They are so tiny. I used wonder under and ironed them on. Does anyone have any suggestions? These are 9 1/2" square blocks. Hope you like them. I bought some small black buttons that I can send along if you would like to use them for eyes or buttons. Please let me know.

Sherry does your machine do embroidery? If so use a * design for the eyes just adjust it larger. For the mouth just a tight zigzag. If not just use a tight zigzag stitch or satin stitch for mouth and do a french knot for the eyes by hand?
