I just made a sample of my first block. The white fabric is not what I will be using. I ordered some white fabric with sparkles and it won't be here until Monday. I couldn't wait until then to see how it would turn out. The blue fabric is what I bought at Joann's yesterday. That is what I will be using for my block. I hope y'all like it.

After 5 attempts, I finally found a block size that I could turn the disappearing hourglass block into a 9 1/2" block for this swap. The colors aren't showing really well, but you get the idea.

klaws, we were close... I got the red version of your blue fabric as accent for one of my blocks. Love all the blocks everyone's showing!

Red, I'm pretty sure I'll be doing some scrappy flying geese blocks as fillers. They'll be easy to pull colors into that echo those of the blocks we receive -- plus their sizing is really flexible.
