Hi Red, I sure hope your knee is starting to feel better.
Thank you so much Judith! I finally remembered to put witch hazel on a wash cloth and to put it onto my knee. Worked great to relieve the pain. I must have twisted it somehow, or it was from the adjustment I had to get at the chiropractor. Sometimes when it is out for a while, putting you back into alignment causes a little pain on areas that were out for a while. That is all I can think anyways. More information than you needed, I am sure.... LOL!

Thanks dragonfly nana. I am relieved to know it wasn't permanent.

I hope the rest of the gals who are mailing have them to us soon. We are getting so close now. Do I sound excited? I am!

I have never heard of this! But I just added witch hazel to my grocery list. Sounds like a good thing to have in the house. BTW, hope that knee doesn't turn into anything serious. Knees can be so painful!

My family bathed me with it when I had Scarlet fever as a preteen...it was the only thing that soothed the sore/burning spots.
Some things my gran always kept on hand were Witch Hazel, Apple Cider Vinegar, Hydrogen Peroxide and baking soda. It is amazing what these can be used for that this generation has forgotten about because of all the other products made with chemicals.
Check Pinterest and Google (and other sites I am sure) and you will find the most amazing tips for using these inexpensive and safe products for everything from cleaning to health care.

I am heading to the post office tomorrow morning, you should have mine by Thursday at the latest. I bet it's fun seeing all the blocks as they come in. Almost like an early Christmas, at least for a quilter! All of them I've seen are wonderful. Can't wait to see the ones I get.

You are so right! Plus the witch hazel is perfect to bring down the swelling and redness after plucking your eyebrows or an astringent.

Another thing my mom used to do is use hot water and iodized salt for a sore throat or tonsils.
