Before and after
Six months ago my DH and I hired someone to finish the basement where i do all my sewing and quilting. He told us that it's going to be ready in a month.Guess what! After 3 months he left us without finishing the job .Since we were short of money we decided to finish it ourselves. And here it is!

You guys did a great job. My husband and I do all our own renovations. We are too cheap to pay someone else to do something we can do ourselves. And the feeling of accomplishment when you are finished is absolutely wonderful! Love your new space.

Your room looks great, you must be very happy! I am sorry that you have the extended completion time. It seems to be the norm in construction. We had a rather extensive amount of work done to our house and I asked if we could get a completion bond on it. The contractor was very insulted, said they don't do bonds because they never go over the time they promise. (I handled property claims for a large insurance company, so I knew that was seldom the case.) It was only a couple weeks over, so I wasn't too concerned. But 2 months over, I would have been crazy. It must be great being able to finish it yourself.
