    Default Craft/Sewing Room - Update #6 - A Baby and Paint

There's been a haitus in my posting due to a lack or progress. There was a whole week of drywall taping, mudding and sanding cycles, which really didn't warrent any photos. My contactor's wife had a baby girl, and he was off for a week.

This week he came on Thursday and Friday and had primed the room and put on the first coat of paint (Benjamin Moore "Delaware Putty") as you can see in the photos below. I'm hoping for finish carpentry and cabinets next week.

#6 in the building of my sewing room - posts 1-5 are linked below.

It would be stressful, were it not for the fact that it is only one room, and it is in my basement. This means that the mess is confined to one place. If I was doing a reno on any other part of my house, say a kitchen or a bathroom, I would have been pulling my hair out by now. The only thing that is bothersome is the drywall dust in the basement, but this is to be expected. Once it is complete I will be washing down everything with a damp cloth to get rid of it. I was able to write my name in dust on top of the washing machine last night ("wash me").

I love the color. It's so fun watching it come together. Can't wait to see more.

It will be really fun now to see your progress with cabinets and shelves. Soon you will be organizing and sewing away! Thanks for the progress pics.
