Recessed outlets so you are not limited in where you can place furniture.

I have kitchen cabinets uppers and base. I store many picture albums, and some other non-sewing things in them. Upper cabinets are not all being used. I donated some quilt books I will never use, still need to purge some more things for other crafts I will no longer use. I have a 90" counter top I keep my cutting mat on and a tabletop ironing board that can be moved off in a flash. I have fluorescent lights mounted under the cabinets. I have my two use all the time machines up and ready to go at all times. I have a 2x4' folding table to put behind my machine I use for quilting. Fold it out of the way. I have two large closets with the wire shelves that are 16" deep and closet with one 16" deep wire shelf. Storage for scraps, batting and such under those shelves. Not a perfect set up but the best I have ever had. I have a roll around light that stays at the end of the sewing table and can be used for both machines without moving.

if you buy your batting for the longarm by the roll then hanging the roll on a rod suspended from the ceiling is a nice option you can roll off the size you need and cut horizontally.

Lighting is most important. My room is 14 by 24 and put cannon lighting with special bulbs that give natural type light . There are 26 of them on 3 different currents. One going down stairs, one set over the sewing and ironing the last series over fabric and cutting.
