I live (alone) in an old Victorian house with a den and formal living room and dining room. The LR is now my sewing studio wiith 2 long folding tables plus a 6 ft table for my sewing machine. I host sewing groups so the tables are useful for that plus sandwiching quilts. There are three additional rooms that are used for storage that I choose not to heat or cool. Yeah, my utility bills are still high. Would like to sell this and find a different house but market is so bad here in this small town.

I haven't been on here for a long time. This post is too funny. I have a sewing room and put shelves in the closet so I can store all the plastic storage containers. I also store stuff on a huge book shelf. I try to keep the room (not too big) as neat as I can except when I'm looking for a certain fabric...then it gets messy. But, I also do overflow sewing on the DR table (rather large one) in the DR which is right off my sewing room. I do have a very large DR/LR area. We don't have much company except adult kids and my quilting friends over. I clear it off for holidays and birthdays. Most of the time I do sew in my sewing room, though.

I sew in the dining room too, right now everything is put away except sewing machine. I think the table may be a little too high for me now.

My sewing room is the smallest room in the house, so I frequently "migrate" out into the living room or dining room. After a while, it just gets too claustrophobic in there. I am promised that the next home we get -- hopefully this year - will have a decent sized room for my sewing.
