Great project storage discovery!
Warning: lots of brand name dropping but I'm not affiliated with any of them, I just shop there… My fabric intake has exceeded my project output lately (I'm sure NOBODY has that problem but me) so I've been searching for additional storage in my already full sewing space. I've considered many options; shelves, cabinets, carts, bags, etc. and decided that I'd wait and when the right thing came along I'd just know it. That happened yesterday when I visited Ikea.
I'd seen other steel shelving and thought an 18" square shelf might fit the bill, but when I saw this Ikea OMAR shelf at 18 1/8"w x 14 1/8"d x 72"h (outside dimensions, not in between the posts), I was ready to buy--and it was only ~$40!! I have SO MANY of those Art Bin project boxes that are 14"w, & some are double height (I get them at Jo-Ann). What I discovered, is that this shelf holds 19 (!) of the single (3 1/2"h) boxes and as you can see in the picture, I have some of the 6"h as well. MORE can be stored on top and the whole shelf has a much smaller footprint than the 18" square shelf I'd originally considered, always a good thing in tight spaces.
I'm SO happy with this new addition to my sewing area that I had to share it with all of you. Maybe it will be the perfect solution to your storage needs too. Here's a link to the shelf: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19829090/ (it says they deliver too!)

ANd it has wheels!!! I get project boxes (14 3/4x14 3/4x3") from Michaels. Love them because I can see. I also label the project, like name that it's for. I usually wait til I can get the 3 for $10.00.
