I got graph paper, measured my room and the space to utilize. Then took measurements of my storage compartments, chest of drawers, cupboards, where I had room for the larger pieces. My room is only 8'x9'. I put together a portable design wall that also doubles as a suspension system for taking up weight (slack) of the quilt. It's a coatrack from Walmart for $14.99 on mobile casters. I used a pattern board but whatever works for you, and covered it with batting and flannel. The rack is 6' high and you can actually make it as wide as you want. Tried to upload a photo but to no avail. Very similar to other suspension system. I just use bungee cords with alligator clamps to hold up the board but it works for me. You will love the opposite of carpet flooring when you realize how much easier it is to clean. Easier on your back picking up the wayward pins.

Your newly painted walls and new flooring look wonderful.
I love moving things around. I love those type of changes, my Husband would be happy if things never changed.

From the Hoarder shows I have seen there is no way I would ever consider myself one. The places were totally filled up except for a tiny path to walk through. Totally disgusting. I consider my house filthy when the floors need sweeping and things are dusty.

Well - I took one bite of the elephant at a time, and it is finally done, and here are some final pictures. Why did I wait so long??????

And her spot for cooling off when she gets too warm in the heated bed.

What a dream this room has become! It is so nice to know what you have, and know where it is so you can get it quickly. And the new floor is so easy to clean. No more picking up threads and scraps from carpet. I just bring my little cordless vacuum in and suck them all up, and my floor looks brand new again. I love, love, love it!

I do have a problem though. I put my little wallet of crochet hooks in a very special spot, and now I can't remember where that spot is. So now I am making yarn hair for a mermaid using my fingers. YUK! Got any ideas where my hooks might be?

Congrats on you new flooring. Your room is just great. It has beautiful light. And, I just know your going to love your new flooring. Have fun organizing. I too enjoy an "over" organized room. I wish I could leave more stuff visible and on display in my sewing room. But, it gets to much light "sunroom" during the day. So, I just label everything to make it quick and easy to find. Think outside the box on your organizing needs. And, have fun!!

A reward for cleaning so well is getting a new pack of crochet hooks at JoAnns. (my hubby taught me this when packing for a trip: Pack light, whatever you need, forgot, want.....including underwear......there is always a walmart nearby). Your room looks fabulous, by the way.

Whoopeeeee! Thanks for the great suggestion. I just might head to Walmart today and take care of that problem.
