Smile I finally got a sewing corner!

I haven't been active here for quite a while due to personal reasons. But that doesn't mean I've not been quilting! I'm currently hand quilting my mom's birthday present (she'll be 70 next month, so I'm in a bit of a hurry to finish! Will show it when done), but I'm looking forward to finally sew (and quilt if I manage to learn that!) by machine as my mom's vintage Bernina 830 is staying with me. Today, I was IKEA shopping for a table to set it up. Here's the result:

I know it's a pretty small table, but it just fits in that corner of my kitchen/dining area, and I can even fit my cutting board on it. It saves me vacating the dining table after sewing as I can just leave it here. I'm thinking of getting a small cupboard for the corner next time I go to IKEA with some drawers to store notions etc.

One of my first projects will probably be a cover for the machine! Anyone knows of a free pattern?

Nicely done. Your setup will work great for piecing but if you are quilting anything larger than a wall hanging, you will need more support for the quilt so you are not fighting the weight of the quilt. Good luck in getting it quilted in time.

Your sewing corner looks great. Of course, you have a wonderful machine sitting on it. I love my Bernina 830 that I bought in 1975. It is wonderful to do FMQ on. Have fun.

It will be so nice to have a corner of your own. I hope you will post a picture of your machine cover when it is done.

I celebrate with you! Great space for your sewing. I look forward to watching you as you make it your own! Having a spot to leave your machine set up is key to enjoying your craft.
    Congratulations!
