If you could have the sewing room of your choice

There would actually be 3 rooms, a large sewing & design area, a fabric "Pantry" & a "wet" room for dyeing / painting fabric, the last would have a sink. There's be plenty of electric outlets. good lighting, plenty of storage & room to move around, plus french doors that lead to a small patio. This of course is my dream sewing space, my current is an 11' x 13' room that's crammed full of supplies, fabric & sewing machines. Good lighting & plenty of storage is a must. A design wall is a good option also. Good luck.

One main feature of my room would be to be able to lock my sharps up so my grandchildren don't get to them. Heck I would love a room all to myself enough for a large cutting table> I actually like a U-shape design myself. Tons of open storage like bookcases, baskets. A good chair, absolute best lighting, radio, computer, printer, tv, cd's, my dog, a couch. Oh and a big design wall and a long arm machine. I guess a breathtaking view couldn't hurt either!

I'm "re-doing" mine now (again?!). I have a small room but it has a window that lets in great light for most of the day. There are things I wish I could change but I'm changing what I can.
One of the things I would wish for is to paint the walls a wonderful warm white, then I would paint all the furniture the same color. I am painting my shelving and will have it put together soon. Lot's of storage is essential.
I do alot of crafts so I don't have a dedicated sewing table, so that would be another one of my wishes. Right now I'm using my desk (it's pretty big 6ft and seems bigger now that I have taken off the hutch).
My next wish would be to have everything finished and put back in the room - neatly (that is something I haven't had for over 4 years).
You can see the progress of my room on my blog but here is the latest pictures:

I am happy with what I have. My sewing room has lots of windows so I can see the deer and all the wildlife that comes by. I have the wonderful working triangle, sewing machine, cutting table and ironing board. I have a small table next to my sewing machine for my sewing buddy, my kitty cat. I have a TV which is only on during NASCAR races. I have a Bose CD player and a sound dock that I can listen to books while I sew. I don't have a long arm, but I have a good friend that does and she is getting my next project. When I retire I will get an embroidery machine. The only thing I don't have that I desperately want is time to sew. I want to retire so badly. But I have a few years to go.

I'm about to move my room from a smallish room downstairs to my son's bedroom upstairs. He's in college, graduates next year, and we are going to turn what is now my room into a more formal guest room that he'll use when he's home. It's got an adjacent bath, so it's easier on my father when he stays here with our dogs while we travel.
I've been thinking about what I want and here's the requirements (most of which will not be a problem)
my desk with computer. It's a big desk with a hutch, holds my correspondence, quilt and scrapbook books, project notebook, Bible study materials
Two bookcases that are full of scrapbook paper, doodads, etc. I'll rearrange them some when I move upstairs, because I'll be able to move around the rolling plastic filing cabinets.
TV - need to figure out how to get cable in that room though - may just put the converter box in there though :)
Table with my scanner and Cricut
Wants: Design wall - shouldn't be a problem, there is a large enough wall to mound something there
Large table for cutting - high enough so I don't have to bend over, and maybe expandable to be able to hold a king sized quilt
New ironing board - my friend showed me how she took a 2" piece of plywood, covered it with batting and fabric, framed it with 2x4's and it sits right on top of her ironing board. Need to get dh or ds to make one of those for me!
The room has a large window that overlooks the street, but that's ok - lots of natural light.
I can't wait until June when we actually do the move! I'll take a picture and post what I currently have and you'll see why I need a bigger room! :D

I'm renovating my study room now to convert part of it into my own dedicated sewing corner. What's in my plan currently...an Arrow sewing cabinet adjacent to a cutting table, and cabinets for storage. Having a hard time doing space planning with my Interior Designer as the room is really very small....had to share with my two children. I wished I could have a wall to hang my quilts but they are all taken up by the cabinets. Need to think through too, where the ironing station could be.
I wished I could have huge bay windows overlooking an ocean which some of you mentioned. But where I stay, I can only see buildings, buildings and more tall buildings! LOL.

I'm actually in the process of getting a dream craft room... We are having a house built so I have been getting a lot of time to think about what I do and do not want.....
Space.. that's the biggest thing. I do wish I had a walk in closet to store rarely used things - however the walk in attic is right down the hall so that is my overflow area.
Okay.. my list of things that I want..
**A nice cutting table at the right height. I have purchased this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00144763/ and a table top to go on top - $100. I had tried pvc pipes under my favorite table and it made the table too wobbly. I bought a lifetime plastic table and didn't like the wobble either. I tried this table out at the store and it doesn't budge at all. They have over 36" tall legs that were cheaper but they were not as sturdy..
** a design wall. I am going to use felt since I have it on hand already... and almost sold it at a yard sale when I said, hey, this yardage would make a great design wall. If it ends up not being wide enough I'm going to get some of that felt like batting instead...
** shelves to put my fabric on - I also purchased curtains at Ikea to hang from tension rods in front of them to keep the sun out. I'm going to use 3 for fabric and one for my yarn...
Shelves to put my books on... shelves to put my junk on... lots of shelves... shelves for just about everything lol. I have a collection of weird shelves - not weird looking, but just odds and ends. They'll do nicely in the new craft room since I won't be needing them in the new house in the rooms they are currently in. It's going to be so nice to have a house with storage!!
** a tv that is big enough to see while I crochet - I'm also going to get a new or used wii system so that I can stream Netflix and I'll have to leave enough space so that I can do my wii exercises in the morning with nobody watching me. I hate having people watch me while I exercise so I'm really looking forward to it...
** a comfortable chair & ottoman for when I crochet - same for you hand quilters. Something comfy to sit on. For me, I love my Poang chair from Ikea. Yes, I do love Ikea. I don't get there often because the closest one is almost 4 hours away. In fact, I haven't been to that one yet....
**my computer will be in the same room. No more having to go across the house to check something that I saw online...
**light light and more light. A light for every thing I do lol. I'm already going to replace the current overhead light with the one I have in my current sewing room - good thing we saved the old light! The old one was not bright enough so I bought a better one. Not leaving that behind when we move!
I'll be able to post pics once I get moved and settled in. We're moving in a month.. The one thing I would kind of have liked is to have the room painted a nice color but I decided to stick with the neutral that will be done by the builder. I'll hang pictures and quilted wall hangings to brighten it up First projects in the new house will be wall hangings for around the house...
