My idea may be off base, but you might check with local building contractors. My parents found an entire kitchen full of good cabinets from a contractor who was taking them out to remodel a home. Of course, we had to refinish to suit their taste, but they were great and in good shape.

If you have room, those tall pantry units would be great for storage!

I have a 12x12 sewing room. Along one wall, I placed two Ikea Malm 3 drawer dressers side by side and covered across the top with a padded piece of plywood to use as an ironing surface. The drawers are godsends for keeping various items stored but reachable. I then flanked this arrangement on each side with two tall Sauder cabinets (each about 19 in wide) with doors. Above the Malm dressers I placed two long simple bookshelves to hold all the little display stuff that is cute but gets in the way. This has made the one wall in my sewing room a treasure trove of storage and accessibility. the only problem is that rather than ironing on the topper, I seem to like to pile all my "organized" piles which are waiting to be used for new quilts. Guess that's always going to be the way it is!
