    Thanks everyone, I'm so happy you liked my lamp. I wish I could take credit for this idea, but alas, I saw a photo on Pinterest. Wish I had the persons name who came up with this.

    Material Witness, I said "discarding" but really meant donating. I go to a small quilting group at a church a few blocks from my house and will take everything up there before I take it to Goodwill or Salvation Army. So far, I have one little knick-knack in mybox. Hope to do better today.

    Your explanation is wonderful! I have 2 lamps in my bedroom that my new kittens have repeatedly attacked - the tassels were just too fascinating! Before I realized what was happening, it was too late to save them. I am going to pick out colors for my bedroom and go for it!

    Really cute and quite creative. Just be careful and the wattage of bulbs that you use....would not want to see anything start on fire due to the heat. Hopefully that would never happen, but better to be safe than sorry. Everyone on this board is so creative. Hope some will rub off on me.
