I have used tomato pincushions and marked each section with needle size

I store them in the original containers. Any used (but still usable) needles go into the little holes in storage container of the sewing machine. Once they are no longer usable, I have a pill bottle with a small hole I made on top and put them in there along with any dull or bent pins. Once it's full, the pharmacy will take them and dispose of them with their sharps.

Good ideas.
I keep them in the origional box, not the cardboard. A put 2 boxes of my favorites in the notions box for each machine. The rest are in an old Tupperware small storage box. Hand needles are in the box from hand work.

I use the same size box for storing machine feet. Each machine has a separate box that is labeled for the machine.
I'll try to pick one of these up next time I'm shopping. I use a lot of the clear containers with good closing snaps.

(This is my first photo upload here. I hope I did it correctly, not too big.). This is what I use. I get them from Michaels. They are supposed to hold the DMC embroidery floss cards. The sections fit my needles perfectly.

The only needles I keep separated are the needles for the 1500se. They are kept in a box with the machine parts and attachments. Other needles are kept in the little plastic containers that they came in when those needles are used up I will mark that container and fill it with needles of a single size to reuse them. I am not that organized with my needles.

I also keep them in their original packages. I sort them out by size using one of those plastic containers with dividers that can be rearranged to fit the size needed. I picked up a couple of these when I was into the hot fixed jewels.

mine is pretty simple... thin drawer probably from some mechanics garage sale, have used it forever.
I need to top up my filled bobbin supply!
I use the mirror compact to see where the needle goes.

I keep mine in the original containers in a binder that has plastic sheets for business cards. I then put them in order by size or type. I use a binder for both machine and hand stitching needles. It takes up very little space and I can easily find what I am looking for
