Wonderful space! Please give us some "after" pics, but if you're like me there isn't ever a finish.

What a great amount of space to work with. I'm sorry you had to suffer through that storm-- so horrific --but you've clearly made very sweet lemonade from very sour lemons. Can't wait to see progress pictures.

My sister and I are thrilled for you . . . and your DH! (And, even though they don't know it, our K9 kiddos are too.)

Here's to fun, inspiration and many new creations in your studio!

My heart goes out to you and your family regarding the Superstorm Sandy! So much devastation. We live in PA and dealt with extended power outages and other inconveniences, but nothing compared to the damage in the NJ/NY area. So glad you have found a place to call home again. I have great faith that you will have this room looking spectacular in no time. Best wishes for many hours of sewing creativity in your "new" studio!

Fantastic. I agree with some of the other posters, make the walls white and bright. I have a whole basement (less the laundry space) to myself for my sewing and my only complaint is the lack of natural light. My dream would be to put one egress window in, which would bring in alot of light and its near where my sewing machines set. Over my long arm, I have to rely on lights perched on my machine. The can lights overhead are fine for normal stuff, but I wish they were brighter! Have fun configuring your space, I am sure it will be a fun project for you at last after dealing with the horror and destruction of the hurricane. I lived in FL for 24yrs, so I understand how miserable that is!
