Thank you, everyone, for the kind comments! One of the things I thought I would like about having the sewing room in the basement was that the laundry is also down there and I could quilt and do laundry at the same time. Well. I'm off today, so I put a load of laundry in and sat down with some practice sammiches to work on my FMQ. Two hours later, I came out of my quilting coma, stood up to stretch and walked to the other side of the basement only to realize the washer had finished the load AND DINGED to let me know, and I never heard a thing. Oh, well.

I don't know if your basement has flooring, but we were going to get vinyl and ended up talking ourselves into the cheapest laminate Home Depot had (68 cents a sq ft), and got the more expensive underlayment. We put it over concrete and it was very easy to do AND it's really nice and cushy to walk on. I can tell a difference stepping off our wood steps leading to the basement onto the laminate. It's really nice. And the whole thing, about 15' x 30', came to less than $500.

I thought you wrote you were a fabric collector and it all fit into the armoire!hehehe Couldn't figure out how a fabric collector could fit it all in there. We had a black and white table like yours in the back of one of your pics, had it for years. You are going to love your room.
