I'm thinking you could rig the design wall/curtain like a Roman Shade with the small rings and cords on the backside, then pull that up when you need to get to the fabric behind it. I've looked at a few books on organizing a craft or sewing room, and none of them look as good and well planned as what you have done. My congratulations on having such a thoughtful and caring aunt.

What excellent storage you have, not only that looks like you have an escape room also, where it's quiet and peaceful. I do have a big bedroom upstairs I'd love to turn into a sewing-crafty-quilting room but my hubby says no. 1 yr ago I broke my pelvis and still have may problems with balance. There is a nice hand rail to use, but guess it'll be a no go. lol.

Nice setup. You have your very own "fabric store" at your finger tips.

It looks like you did a great job of organizing a lot of good stuff. Now you can enjoy making beautiful quilts out of it. Have fun!

I too have that problem...no one else in this family is at all interested in all the quilting fabric and goodies nor the 12 sewing machines (blush) - I have told all my family that upon my departure to please take all of fabric, thread, etc to my local Project Linus group, so that the fabric will continue to be used for the kids quilts....as for the sewing machines, I hope my hubby or kids will just list them on ebay for some other lucky quilter to find and love.....that feels right to me, to give the fabric and etc to Project Linus where I do a lot of giving and I know it will be used and appreciated.
