I have one of them out with my LA - I put my rulers and tools in it. Most of my spools for the LA are too tall to fit in the drawers, so I have a different Ikea cabinet for them.
I have a second one in my sewing room, and since it is on wheels, I use it as a ironing station when I am doing paper peiceing and need to iron often. I can roll it next to my sewing table so I don't have to get up to iron. When not in use, I roll it under the end of my ironing board where it is out of the way, but still close enough to the sewing table for easy access. Our nearest Ikea is about 5 hours away (Twin Cities MN). We went a couple of weeks ago so I could get an adjustable table for my machine, and a couple of storage cabinets for the sewing room. |

I use cabinets similar to these just not Ikea. I always feel like a grade-schooler opening a gigantic box of crayons and that makes me happy. Where did you get the dividers in the lower picture?

Thank you for posting these pictures. Would you please post the name of the IKEA series so I can make a fast trip to my IKEA!

I have a similar cabinet to your 1st pictured one. I currently am using it to hold my "next" projects but love your idea for thread instead!

Awesome cabinets.

If I remember correctly they are called Alex, I would actually like to have more of this series

Looks like it will easily hold all your rainbow colors of thread.

You won't get dust on your thread with those cabinets. These are super.
