Sewing Room...Work in Progress
Like many of us my sewing room is an ongoing work in progress...but here is where it's at right now.
My husband has custom built all my furniture so it’s all the rustic style I like and exactly the height I needed. The bulletin boards hold sketches of planned quilts as well as orphan blocks and an embroidered crazy quilt UFO.

Holly Hobbie also features in my sewing room…her patchwork style and memories of my childhood seem to fit nicely in this room.

Currently in progress is a small Holly Hobbie wall hanging made from a vintage sheet for the right side of the wall behind my 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] table top. I want to add some small pinwheels on the top & bottom to make it rectangular and then will hand quilt and bind.

My sewing room is in our basement…and the house was built nearly 50 years ago, so lighting is still as issue. But we’ll get it all there eventually.

Primary thread storage is a vintage metal C&C thread display that we picked up at an auction from a local general store (which had closed many years before). We also purchased one of their wooden counter top/cabinets which included a wooden yardstick attached to the top to measure fabric cuts… I use it for storage in the laundry room…primarily batting & other larger supplies. Project totes and scrap totes are stacked on top.

Cutting table in action…I have a rotary cutter that I use just for paper…great for both paper piecing and scrapbooking projects.
