Stitchnripper, I took a Superior cone(they are 4 inches high) along to ikea with me and it fit into the Eket drawer perfectly and the drawer pulled out so that the full space was open. I think it will hold the cones 4 deep and about 9 across so I bought 2 of the drawer pacs. I will let you know and post a picture when I get a chance to put them together (might be a while with the holiday prep going on) since you also sounded interested.

My grip with the Ikea I have (and I have a lot), the drawer slides are not full extension so in order to get stuff at the back you need to remove some of the stuff at the front and pull it forward. I've got several that I bought for thread storage and don't like that. I've consider putting fillers at the back of the drawers so don't have to dig for what is at the back. But then I lose quite a bit of storage as the drawers aren't that deep to begin with. Makes me appreciate my full extension slides in my kitchen!

I hear you on that one Macybaby. It was one of my big concerns with the Eket drawers (i have my machine embroidery threads in an Alex unit and my threads, needles and rulers for my sweet sixteen in another and it is my only gripe with them there.) I did check the Eket set for the access to the back at Ikea and they pull out the full depth of the drawer, possibly because the drawers are not as deep as the Alex drawers.
Now if only I could find the time to get them put together instead of sitting in boxes outside of my sewing room .
My sewing room has been pulled together mostly from Ikea pieces and my DH's building skills. It has worked out so well and if only I wasn't such a pack rat it would be perfect!

I bought the ALEX Drawers from IKEA sot store all my thread for Long arm Quilting. The deeper drawers work for my larger cones. I also use them to store all my Pantos. I spent a lot of money on all the drawer cabinets but I am very organized and it was money well spent. The cabinets are also very good quality.
