Cutting up those 1 1/2" left over strips...Planned the shoo fly block quilt and need 99 blocks (5") so have made the 4-2 patch units for it as I make the 9P's for quilt in post #125 Have enough sewn for 70 blocks. When I get to 100 I'll put them aside to concentrate on the 9P's to finish that quilt. This is the EQ plan for the shoofly quilt

WMUTeach: It’s amazing how many scraps fit in a bin. You can do it!

oksewglad: You’re making great progress! I like your shoofly quilt design.

Thanks! I am pleased to report that the pairs for the shoo fly quilt are finished! Sometime when want to play in the 2 1/2" scraps I will make the HST's for the corners of the shoo fly block. I will need a light and dark 7" strip for those.

Now I can concentrate on the 9P's Meanwhile the star quilt is on the design wall..my junior quilting critics approved of the layout and really like my border choices. Yesterday the 15 yo paired light and dark strips for me..glad she still likes to play with fabric. Here she is when she was 4 playing with some I spy fabrics I received on a exchange here on the QB

I have been an organizing fool in my sewing room but none of it to do with fabric...yet. When we moved it was to downsize so ALL my crafts are now in my sewing room which makes a bedrm crowded. So I am being realistic & getting rid of stuff that no longer interests me and then grouping like items together, hoping this mindset doesn't fizzle before I am done
I shall never be bored unless I choose to be LOL

Good luck, Dee. Downsizing is both a relief and disheartening...all those years of collecting craft supplies so you always have what you need. At least you are identifying what you will likely never use again. Cheering you on!

I did this several years ago concentrating on just fabric as I realized that is what I really liked to do...now the fabric is overtaking! Good luck!
