My sewing room is a mess, out of control! My plan is to sort, purge, clean and organize it. I have way too much stuff that I've been holding onto that I haven't used and probably won't use.

Comic boards have really helped in controlling the chaos in the fabric room but sewing room gets out of control while working on projects. Goal today is to finish piecing this lap quilt, tidy sewing room, and then do sashing for this top.

I have learned to scale back my goals to something I just may accomplish. However I have to confess tidying up anything can be and has been a huge undertaking.

I am in the process of planning a whole makeover for my sewing room. I'll be making decisions of the final layout of the work tables and storage cabinets so they can be ordered soon. The plan will also include new flooring, office chairs and paint. The room is only 10x12 so has to function well in every square inch!

    Happy Stitching in 2021!

    Thanks Julie!

I have to be organized in this small space. I will take before and after pictures to post for you. Happy 2021!

Can't wait to see how this comes together! My space is a touch larger...12 x 14 but houses a LA and boy it is tight.

    Exciting time, Rhonda K!

My sewing area is L-shaped and very spacious but too much stuff in it. I cleared the top of a small table by my die cutting machine this morning to give me an uncluttered look when I go downstairs. Of course, the bits and pieces of fabric got added to my trim pile. Lol. But I did put all of the dies back on their appropriate shelf.

My sewing goals this year will be, of course, to reduce fabric and to keep my sewing area fairly organized.

My January specific goals for my house will be 2 hours per week in my office which has the pictures/memorabilia, loose papers, and a box with papers to be shredded. Another 2 hours per week will be spent in an extra bedroom that has been a ‘toss in’ room along with a weight lifting machine and the treadmill. I’m giving myself permission to break the time into little pieces and have a notebook in each area to record the time spent. Only M-F though.

    Wish me luck!

Retired, praying for perseverence. What tricks do you have to stay the long haul?

Today, I emptied the scrap box: strips to friend, pieces to QB participant and the trash got the too little stuff. Now there still is stuff in the scrap box, which will stay until for some reason, the box must be moved. Then I'll be forced to make a decision.

I got my sewing room moved around n had a table set up to hold my quilt as I pinned one and my daughter is reducing my fabric pile by cutting into 10” layer cakes 5” strips n 3” strips for jelly rol. We also tied a quilt for a friend using my fabric n my batting
