Default 2021 Quilt Con will be virtual

Got email this week saying that the Modern Quilt Guild's annual Quilt Con will be virtual in Feb. No details posted up yet, but they were wanting others to know asap in order to plan.

What a sad decision.

I'm surprised that decisions for the February show have been made already. But I'm even more surprised that Quilts, Inc. has not yet cancelled their quilt show in Long Beach in early July, or the Market and Festival in Houston this year. Other than nursing homes, I can't imagine a venue more likely to spread the virus among the most susceptible part of the population.

It seems kind of early to make that kind of decision

I'm surprised that Quilt Weeks in August haven't been canceled yet--rates of infection in Midwest are increasing now

Default Another big show goes virtual!

QuiltCon--the big modern quilt show, just posted on their site the info on their virtual quilt show in Feb. Lots of classes and lectures. I did the Virtual Quilt Show (Gammill was big sponsor) and took some classes and the price was right and I learned much, so will definitely be doing this Quilt Con show virtually, too.

I saw this today, too. I am hoping I can participate in some classes but will not know what work will look like until much closer to it. I haven't been able to one yet, just the Chicago International quilt show a few times.
